Joint Entrance Examination (Main)
About JEE Main
JEE Main is the premier national entrance examination for admission to undergraduate engineering (B.E./B.Tech) programs at NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, as well as the qualifying preliminary gateway for JEE Advanced. It is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across two distinct sessions each year.
Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is conducted exclusively as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Each subject contains 20 Multiple Choice Questions in Section A and 10 Numerical Value Questions in Section B.
Under the revised pattern, Section B optional choices are removed: all 10 numerical questions are compulsory, and negative marking (-1) applies to both Section A and Section B.
